TPU tube with Clikvalve

TPU tube with Clikvalve

No more experimenting. The trial and error is over. Finally, we exclusively offer TPU tubes that actually work , and with a click valve too. I've tested extensively, and these tubes work (which is not the case for all TPU tubes).

This is a medium wall thickness, like those used for gravel bikes. The flat laid width of 39mm (25mm unstretched diameter) is well-suited for tires from 28 to 35mm without overstretching the material, which so often leads to punctures and poor air retention. Yes, you should ignore the tire size recommendation on the packaging.

It's a good compromise between lightweight butyl (requiring monthly pumping) and latex (requiring daily pumping). They are quite puncture-resistant and hold air well. (Air loss for a 28-406 at 8 bar is 1 bar per week). The rolling resistance is almost as good as latex, and they are lighter than tubeless. The 406 weighs 32g with valve and cap.

I recommend mounting the tire slightly inflated with talcum powder. Avoid tubeless tires and rims where possible. Ensure the tube is inserted straight and not twisted. Once you've confirmed it's not pinched anywhere, the valve must be pulled out while inflating to prevent the tube from creeping behind the valve stem. If the tire pops over the rim bead with a bang while inflating, deflate it and inflate again to allow the tube to settle and prevent localized overstretching.

Included are a valve plate reinforcement and two self-adhesive patches (no experience with them).
